Since September 1st the Program of Excellence for future silversmiths is running in Schoonhoven. This is an initiative of the Silver in Motion Foundation.

Five students from England, Scotland, South Korea, the U.S.A. and The Netherlands are taking part in this first pilot year. They have a degree in art, and want to learn specifically to express their ideas in silver and other metals. They work to make their own collection, with the help of the silversmiths Titiaan de Geer, Paul de Vries, Jan van Nouhuys and designer in metalwork Louis Hankart.

The group of students and tutors was received at the Town Hall of Schoonhoven by councillor Jan Beugelaar on the first day of their one-year program, September 1st.
