On the 13th of December an extraordinary event took place in Schoonhoven: the Night of the Silver in its second edition.

It was a cold, clear winternight, ideal for the visitors who came in great numbers to be taken along a route of 24 gold- and silversmiths, workshops, jewelleryshops, galleries, silverfactories, the Vakschool for gold- and silversmithing, the Museum for gold, silver and clocks. All of them are members of the Schoonhoven guild for gold- and silversmiths St. Eloy.

The moon was out, fires were burning in the streets at the different locations, and the guides had torches. And at each location the visitors were made welcome with special treats. Altogether, the atmosphere could not have been better.

The ‘Mayor of the Silvernight” decorated with the chain, played his part convincingly once again.
