Zilver in Beweging archief bij RKD

Sinds kort is het archief van de Stichting Zilver in Beweging ondergebracht bij de RKD - Nederlands instituut voor kunstgeschiedenis.

Dit is gebeurd via bemiddeling van Dr. Eric Domela Nieuwenhuis, Curator, Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed.

Op de website van de RKD wordt het als volgt ingeleid :

‘De stichting werd in 1990 opgericht door zilversmid Jan van Nouhuys. De stichting organiseerde lezingen en tentoonstellingen verspreid over Nederland om de interesse voor het ambacht van zilversmid, de kunstzinnige kant van het werk en groot zilver te vergroten. In 1996 heeft de stichting de Watertoren van Schoonhoven een tweede functie gegeven waarbij er plek kwam voor twee ateliers, een expositieruimte voor zilverkunst, en een kleine ruimte voor ontmoetingen en lezingen. In 2000 werd de stichting opgeheven.'

Recently the archive of the Stichting Zilver in Beweging has been added to the collection of archives of the RKD - Nederlands instituut voor kunstgeschiedenis (History of Art).

On the website of the RKD the introduction is as follows:

'The Foundation was founded by silversmith Jan van Nouhuys in 1990. The Foundation organized lectures and exhibitions throughout The Netherlands with the aim to draw attention to the work of the silversmith and the artistic aspects of corpus work.

In 1996 the Foundation gave a second life to the Watertower of Schoonhoven, by creating two ateliers, an exhibition space for silverart and a room for meetings and lectures. in 2000 the Foundation was terminated.'
